Epithelial Tissues

• Location: In general, epithelial tissues are found in ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­epithelia and in glandular tissue.
  • Epithelia (singular, epithelium)
    • Cover body surface; i.e. skin
    • Line internal structures
      • Line inside of ventral body cavity organs i.e. (1)_fill in blank________membranes in stomach
      • Line outside of ventral body cavity organs i.e. serous membranes around stomach

Connective Tissues

• Connective Tissues are unlike each other.  For example, bone, blood, and adipose tissue are very different from each other.  Therefore, why are all those tissues under connective tissue?  What do they all share (other than the 3 components mentioned below)? Muscle Tissues

• What do all 3 types of muscle tissue have in common? (8)                                                                            
• What does each specific kind of muscle tissue have that is not seen in the other 2? I provided one example of how smooth muscle is different from other two, you provide at least one more for smooth muscle and one for skeletal and cardiac muscle.

Nervous Tissues

General Tissue Question

Membranes (Cutaneous, Mucous, Serous)

• Membranes are made of layer of epithelium and layer of connective tissue.
• Cutaneous Membranes are made of which specific kind of epithelium (18)                                            
• Mucous membranes are made of a layer of epithelium and a layer of connective tissue (called lamina propria).  The epithelial layer of mucous membranes can be made all 8 types of epithelial tissue except (19)                                                              (specific kind of tissue).
